Product Description

Water Treatment Chemical HEDP Etidronic Acid CAS 2809 - 21 - 4

HEDP (1-Hydroxy Ethylidene-1,1-Diphonic Acid) is an organophosphoric acid corrosion inhibitor. It can chelate with Fe, Cu, and Zn ions to form stable chelating compounds and dissolve the oxidized materials on these metals' surfaces. It shows excellent scale and corrosion inhibition effects under a temperature of 250°C. It has good chemical stability under high pH values, is hard to be hydrolyzed, and is hard to be decomposed under ordinary light and heat conditions. Its acid/alkali and chlorine oxidation tolerance are better than that of other organophosphoric acids (salt). It can react with metal ions in the water system to form a hexa - element chelating complex, especially with calcium ions, and thus has good antiscale and visible threshold effects. When combined with other water treatment chemicals, it shows good synergistic effects.

Specification

Property Specification

Density (20°C)g/cm³ 1.40 Min

Usage

  1. HEDP is used as a scale and corrosion inhibitor in circulating cool water systems, oil fields, and low - pressure boilers in fields such as electric power, chemical industry, metallurgy, and fertilizer.
  2. In the light woven industry, it is used as a detergent for metal and non - metal.
  3. In the dyeing industry, it is used as a peroxide stabilizer and dye - fixing agent.
  4. In non - cyanide electroplating, it is used as a chelating agent. The dosage of 1 - 10mg/L is preferred as a scale inhibitor, 10 - 50mg/L as a corrosion inhibitor, and 1000 - 2000mg/L as a detergent. Usually, HEDP is used together with polycarboxylic acid.

Package and Storage

HEDP is normally packed in 250kg net Plastic Drums. IBC Drums can also be used as required. It should be stored for ten months in a shady room and dry place.

Safety Protection

HEDP is acidic. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Once contacted, flush with plenty of water immediately. If necessary, go to the hospital for help.
