Isobornyl methacrylate is colorless transparent liquid. Isobornyl methacrylate is a monomer that combines hardness and flexibility. Due to its molecular structure characteristics, the polymer has excellent high light, bright image, Chemicalbook abrasion resistance, medium resistance and weather resistance, and its moisture absorption is significantly lower than MMA (methyl methacrylate). In addition, acrylic resin added with IBOMA has a good compatibility with polyester, alkyd and many volatile paint film forming substances.
Application
Isobornyl methacrylate is a widely used hydrophobic monomer with a good combination of hardness and flexibility, which can improve the chemical resistance and water resistance of polymer systems.
Industrial application
Isobornyl methacrylate is an organic polymeric monomer with high chemical reactivity, which can be used in the industrial preparation of heat-resistant organic sheets, photoconductive fibers, adhesives, color carriers for screen printing inks, modified powder coatings, cleaning coatings, high solid and low viscosity coatings, etc. The substance can also be used as active diluent and toughness modified monomer of resin to improve the dispersion of resin to pigment. The substance can effectively reduce the viscosity of polymer solution in acrylic resin formulation, and in various ring monomers, the viscosity of isobornyl methacrylate can reduce the viscosity of Chemicalbook. (The general dosage of about 5 to 10 percent will have a more obvious effect). Isobornyl methacrylate is suitable for the manufacture of high Tg thermoplastic acrylic resins with high hardness, high alcohol resistance and high heat resistance. And has good flexibility.
