The photoinitiator Irgacure 784

2023-07-28

Bis[2,6-difluoro-3-(1H-pyrrolyl-1)phenyl] titanocene, trade name Irgacure 784. The appearance is orange powder, the melting point is 165~170°C; the maximum absorption wavelength is at 398nm and 560nm. Polymerization and curing can be initiated under visible light or even suitable laser irradiation, such as Ar-laser (488nm), FD-Nd/YAG-laser (532nm).
The photoinitiator has good photoactivity, thermal stability and low toxicity. The pentyl photoreaction intermediate undergoes ligand replacement with the ester carbonyl of acrylate in oligomers and reactive diluents to generate free radicals to initiate polymerization and crosslinking. Suitable for thick coatings and dark curing systems, it can cure coatings with a thickness of more than 70µm and black, red and high-pigment coatings; it has an ultra-wide visible light absorption band and can make full use of the light source, so it has a high Excellent photosensitivity and photoinitiation activity. In the acrylate system, only 0.8MJ/cm2 of 488nm light can initiate polymerization; the photoinitiation efficiency of 0.3% 784 is 2 to 6 times higher than that of 2% 651. In addition, the fragments after photolysis are complexed by acrylate and will not migrate to the surface, so it is safe and environmentally friendly.

784 is a high-efficiency, broad-spectrum photoinitiator, widely used in UV coatings, UV inks, UV adhesives, photoresists, photopolymerization plates, composite materials, dental fillings; it can be used alone or with Use with other photoinitiators, the recommended addition amount is: 0.3-6%.

Based on the diverse downstream needs, companies in the industry often need to have 8-10 kinds of photoinitiators, and most photoinitiator manufacturers only have the ability to supply a single or a few types of products.

Therefore, if you are worried about purchasing by yourself, please contact info@chemfineinternational.com immediately.
